Please let's get to know each other better. Tell me how Christ is alive in your heart. Not a Christian? No problem, I want to know you too. I think we need to reach out and share our faith with everyone. Our faith (atheists, muslims, new age, christian, buddhist, or whatever) should not be a private matter. Christ teaches us:
Mark 4:21-25
"No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl or under a bed. A lamp is always put on a lampstand, so that people who come into a house will see the light. There is nothing hidden that will not be found. There is no secret that will not be well known. Pay attention to how you listen! Everyone who has something will be given more, but people who have nothing will lose what little they think they have. "
Everyone has been given a gift. Please share your insights and knowledge. I was very fortunate to be able to share my faith with men at my church on a retreat. We were all witnesses of Christ's love in some way. To hear men bear their souls and reach out was nothing less then seeing Christ himself among us. To this and in many other ways, I am a witness to Christ love.
But I love to reach out to people of all faiths. I've been know to interact with Atheists and Muslims on their message boards. Their passion for truth is no less sincere then Christians. I have also found a lot of truth in what they say. So please join us and give us your insights as well.
I'm sure that regardless of your viewpoint you'll agree that the news is filled with the too many evil things. The evil I see are in those who want to force feed atheistics view in our schools and then call it science. And then there are those who want to destroy life instead of preserve it and call it pro-choice or euthenasia. There are some who want to threatened the institution of marriage and ignore the purpose of gender (man, woman and sex) and tell us that we must face diversity in our culture. There are those who want to force their way of thinking through the courts, I call it the ACLU. Some want to hand over our society to the whims of man and call it separation of church and state. Some will create new philosophies to put aside our rich history and knowledge gained from the past, and call that enlightenment. And finally, many will join or promote a dangerous cult that permits lying, murder, hatred, polygamy and deny free will and the rights of woman, and call it Islam.
C.S Lewis once realized that just because something goes out of fashion does not make it wrong. We need to understand why the thing went out of fashion to begin with. We tend to think that knowledge and understanding is meant to evolve and will only evolve in a more enlightened ways over time. Old ideas will make way for new and supplant the old because they are new. But viewpoints new or old, doesn't make them right.
1 Corinthians 1: 18-19
The message about the cross doesn't make any sense to lost people. But for those of us who are being saved, it is God's power at work. As God says in the Scriptures, "I will destroy the wisdom of all who claim to be wise. I will confuse those who think they know so much."
Like St. Augustine, "I believe in order to understand; and I understand, the better to believe." I have found a richer lifestyle. A life full of love from Christ. I have discovered this truth and I am bursting with excitement like groom waiting for his bride. I hope to share this love with you with all my heart. But mostly I seek to know Him better to love and serve Him with all my heart.
